  • A journal paper titled "Reference-free Displacement Estimation for Timber Railroad Bridge Assessment using Wireless Smart Sensors" has been accepted for publication in the ASCE: Journal of Bridge Engineering (Apr 2015). 
  • Congratulations! Nikolas Gelo was offered by the Apple in recognition of his efforts on the research about the real-time dynamic displacement sensing using iPhone's camera in the SSS lab. (Mar 2015).
  • Claudio Sepulveda successfully completed his 2-month mission as a visiting student and returned to Chile. His efforts on the 3-D tall building structure for shake table tests are appreciated (Mar 2015).
  • Dr. Seung-Woo Lee joined the SSS laboratory as a visiting scholar, on leave from TE Solution Co. Ltd., Korea (Feb 2015).

  • Babak Khodabandeloo joined the SSS laboratory as a PhD student (Jan 2015).
  • Dr. Jo joins the Embedor Technologies, Inc., as a scientific advisor (Dec 2014). 
  • A journal paper titled "Low-latency Data Acquisition Hardware for Real-time Wireless Sensor Applications" has recently been published online (ahead of print) in IEEE: Sensor Journal (Nov 2014). 
  • Gabriela Brambila joined the SSS laboratory as an undergraduate researcher (Oct 2014).

  • Dr. Jian Xu joined the SSS laboratory as a visiting scholar, on leave from Wuhan Polytechnic University, China (Sep 2014).

  • Dr. Jae-Hong Min joined the SSS laboratory as a post-doc researcher (Feb. 2014).
  • Dr. Hongki Jo joined the University of Arizona as assistant professor in the department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (Aug. 2013).
